Select an attribute there, and the associated
Configured Calculations
appear listed in that portion
of the screen. Click
Add
to create a new metric, or
Edit
to modify an existing one you have selected.
Click
Delete
to remove a selected metric. The metric editor includes the following fields:

Name
—An identifier for this metric.

Ty p e
—Select a result type from the pick list. Available options include
Count
and
Gauge
.
Gauge
values are averaged on rollup, and
Count
values are totalled.
CAUTION:
When editing an existing monitor, changing a metric type (Gauge or Count) invalidates existing retained
data. The application drops all retained data for a calculated attribute when you save a metric type
change.

Unit
—Enter an optional text identifier for the units for this metric. Units appear where
appropriate on charts and reports.

Max Value
—Enter an optional maximum value for the calculation.

Formula
—Enter an expression to calculate the value for the metric. Attributes appear at the top
of this screen with automatically assigned character codes for use in expressions.
