ATM l2 Circuit Mode Options
The following enable ATM Layer 2 circuit transport mode. Check or select where appropriate. Cell
and trunk options are mutually exclusive.

Cell
—ATM Layer 2 circuit cell mode

Trunk
—Set ATM Layer 2 circuit trunk mode. The following trunk selections from the pick list to
the right of this checkbox are optional:
Network-to-Network–ATM Layer 2 circuit network-to-network interface trunk mode
User-to-Network–ATM Layer 2 circuit user-to-network interface trunk mode.
Idle Cell Format Options

ITU-T Format
—ITU-T idle cell header format. Check for itu-t -> ITU-T mode, uncheck for
KLM mode.

Payload Pattern
—Payload pattern byte (0x00-0xff).
The
Configure
button at the bottom of this screen sends your configuration to the device. The
Refresh
button queries to update information displayed.
Configuring Interfaces
This screen lets you configure several port types. The general options are common to all port types.
Depending on the port selected various tabs let you configure them. (See Options on page 578)

The General part of this screen lets you configure the following fields/pick lists:

Encapsulation
—Physical link-layer encapsulation. Available options include the following:
atm-ccc-cell-relay—ATM cell relay encapsulation for cross-connect.
atm-pvc—ATM permanent virtual circuits.
cisco-hdlc—Cisco-compatible HDLC framing.
