ARP
The Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) converts IP addresses into physical addresses, and maps
the IP address to a MAC address. ARP allows a host to communicate with other hosts only when
the IP address of its neighbors is known.

- The ARP Settings screen contains the following fields:

Global Settings/Interface Settings
Select this option to activate the fields for ARP global
settings.

ARP Entry Age Out (sec)
(1-40000000)Before the entry is deleted from the table. The range
is 1 - 4000000. Zero indicates that entries are never cleared from the cache. The default value
is 60000 seconds.

Clear ARP Table Entries
The type of ARP entries that are cleared on all Ethernet switch
module s. The possible values are:
NoneARP entries are not cleared.
AllAll ARP entries are cleared.
DynamicOnly dynamic ARP entries are cleared.
StaticOnly static ARP entries are cleared.

Interface Settings
Select this option to activate the fields for ARP settings on a single Ethernet
switch module.
