SNMP -> Communities
This screen lets you manage SNMP Community Settings. Existing SNMP settings appear listed at
the top of this screen. When you elect to add or edit a row in this table the lower panel displays an
editor.

You can also select a row and
Remove
it.The following are fields on this screen. They are mandatory:
Community String
—Text for the community string.

Access Mode
—Values:
Read-Only
,
Read-Write, SNMP Admin.
Not all these options appear for
all switches.

Management Station
—This field appears for some models and represents the IP address of
computers that access the switch. A value of 0.0.0.0 means that the community can be used
for accessing the switch from all management stations. If you specify a specific IP, then only
the specific management station can use the community.
NOTE:
This also supports IPv6 addresses.
Depending on the device you select, another screen may appear.
In addition to the
Community
text, the editor lets you check to select the following (check to
Allow
):
