Installing SNMP on the IT Assistant System
The SNMP service must be installed and running on the IT Assistant system.
SNMP (or CIM) must also be installed on the systems that you want to
discover and manage.
NOTE: The following example uses Windows Server 2003 SP2 Enterprise Edition.
To install SNMP Service on the management station:

Click the
Start
button. Point to
Settings
Control Panel
Add or
Remove Programs
Add/Remove Windows Components
.

Select
Management and Monitoring Tools
Details
Simple Network
Management Protocol
and click
OK
.

Click
Next
in the
Windows Components Wizard
window.
The Windows Components Wizard will install SNMP.

Once the installation is complete, click
Finish
.

Close the
Add or Remove Programs
window.
SNMP is now installed on your system.

systems on which IT Assistant can be installed.
Installing SNMP on Microsoft Windows Vista
To install SNMP Service on Microsoft Windows Vista:

Click the

button and select
Control
Panel

Double-click
Program and Features

Click
Turn the Windows Feature On or Off
on the left-hand tree.

Locate and select
SNMP Services
.

Click
OK
.
SNMP is now installed on your system.
Installing SNMP on Microsoft Windows Server 2008
To install SNMP Service on Microsoft Windows Server 2008:
