Viewing Dell EMC chassis
You can view the Dell EMC chassis on the Dell EMC chassis page.
1. On the OpenManage Integration for VMware vCenter page, in the left pane, click Dell EMC Chassis.
2. On the Dell EMC chassis page, in the Objects tab, the following information is displayed:
• Name: Displays an IP address link for each Dell EMC chassis.
• IP Address/FQDN: Displays the vCenter IP address.
• Service Tag: Displays the Service Tag of the chassis.
• Chassis URL: Displays the chassis URL.
• Model: Displays the model name.
• Location: Displays the location of the chassis.
• Last Inventory: Displays the last inventory information.
• Available Slots: Displays the available slots in chassis.
• Profile Name: Displays the chassis profile name in which the chassis is associated.
• Role: Displays the role of the chassis.
To add an MX chassis, click Add MX Chassis. For more information about manually adding an MX chassis, see Adding an MX Chassis
on page 99.
NOTE:
There are instances when the Role column is not displayed on the Dell EMC Chassis page. In such a case, do
the following:
a. From the login user name list in vSphere Web Client, select Remove Stored Data.
b. In the User Preferences <user name> dialog box, select the User preferences for columns in list views check box.
c. Click Clear selected data.
The Dell EMC Chassis page is refreshed and the Role column is displayed.
NOTE: The order in which the IPs of the discovered chassis are listed in the left pane and the IP column of the
Objects tab is not same. The order of sorting IPs in the left pane is based on the string sorting and the order of
sorting in the right pane is based on the chassis role (lead and member).
NOTE: When operations such as removal, addition, or update of a chassis are performed, refresh the Dell EMC
Chassis page to view the latest data.
NOTE: For an MX chassis in an MCM configuration, the entire MCM infrastructure is managed using the lead
chassis. If the member chassis IPs and iDRAC IPs are disabled and chassis role is changed, it is recommended to
remove the existing lead chassis and add the new lead chassis IP again, and then associate to the chassis profile.
