De-enroll (Deregister) SCOM Management
Group enrolled with OMIMSSC
About this task
NOTE: Before de-enrolling SCOM Management Servers in a SCOM Management Group, if opened in any of the
Management Servers, close the OMIMSSC appliance share location.
Steps
1. Log in to the OMIMSSC Admin portal as an OMIMSSC ADMIN.
2. To expand the left pane, click the > icon, and then select Settings > Console Enrollment.
All the enrolled SCOM Management Servers are displayed.
3. To de-enroll the SCOM Management Server, select the enrollment name and click De-enroll.
If there are multiple SCOM Management Servers within the SCOM Management Group, then this operation de-enrolls all the
SCOM Management Servers from the OMIMSSC appliance for SCOM. All the Dell EMC management packs and Dell EMC
devices that are monitored using the appliance are removed from the SCOM console after the de-enrollment is completed.
4. To confirm, click Yes.
The Jobs and Logs page is displayed. The de-enrollment job is listed under the Running tab, and the progress of the job is
displayed under Progress Status.
Expand the de-enrollment job to view the status of the sub tasks. During the de-enrollment, the OMIMSSC appliance
performs the following activities on the SCOM console:
The discovered devices and its associated jobs are deleted from the SCOM console and the OMIMSSC appliance.
All the imported Dell EMC management packs are deleted.
Registry entries of the OMIMSSC appliance are deleted.
Prerequisites such as enabling the client for NFS and Remote PowerShell are reverted to the previous settings.
Results
The de-enrollment job takes 15 minutes to an hour or more to complete successfully depending on the selected monitoring
scope, monitoring mode, and the number of devices discovered in the SCOM environment. If the de-enrollment job takes
more time to complete and is unable to complete successfully, or if the SCOM Management Server is not reachable when the
de-enrollment is initiated, you can use the Force De-enroll option under Console Enrollment > More > Force De-enroll.
The enrolled SCOM Management Server entries are forcefully deleted from the OMIMSSC for SCOM appliance. The previous
configurations on the SCOM console, before enrolling with OMIMSSC appliance, are not reverted and you must manually delete
all the imported Dell EMC management packs, registry entries of OMIMSSC appliance, and Dell EMC device details. For more
information, see Manually clean the SCOM console that is unreachable during the de-enrollment on page 85.
CAUTION:
Dell Technologies recommends that you choose the "De-enroll" option to de-enroll the SCOM
Management Servers with the OMIMSSC for SCOM appliance. The Force De-enroll option is not recommended
at all scenarios to avoid any loss of data. It must be used only when the SCOM console is not reachable and or
when the de-enroll operation is unable to complete.
