Upgrading the OMIMSSC appliance for
SCOM
You can upgrade to the latest version of the OMIMSSC appliance for SCOM by using:
● The service packs available on https://linux.dell.com/repo/omimssc-scom/—To be used when you upgrade OMIMSSC
version 7.2 to version 7.3.
● The Backup and Restore feature of OMIMSSC—To be used when you upgrade OMIMSSC version 7.1 and 7.1.1 to version
7.2. You can then use the service packs to upgrade from OMIMSSC version 7.2 to version 7.3.
Additionally, you can access the Updates and Recommendations page on the SCOM console to check if any updates are
available to the Dell EMC OpenManage Integration for Microsoft SCOM.
NOTE: If a custom resource pool is created, the SCOM Management Servers present in the custom resource pool would
be enrolled with OMIMSSC appliance version 7.2. Perform the following steps to de-enroll the SCOM Management Servers
in the custom resource pool and to enroll the All Management Server Resource Pool (AMSRP) SCOM Management Servers
with the OMIMSSC appliance:
● De-enroll the SCOM Management Group with OMIMSSC appliance version 7.2. See Dell EMC OpenManage Integration
Version 7.2 with Microsoft System Center for System Center Operations Manager User's Guide on the support site.
● Upgrade the OMIMSSC appliance from version 7.2 to 7.3 using the service packs.
● After the upgrade, enroll the SCOM Management Servers with OMIMSSC appliance version 7.3 for SCOM. See Enrolling
(registering) SCOM Management Group with OMIMSSC appliance for SCOM on page 27.

Upgrade the OMIMSSC appliance version by using
service packs
Prerequisites
● Ensure that no jobs are running. If running, wait until the jobs are completed.
● As per the scalability guidelines provided in the Scalability with Dell EMC OpenManage Integration with Microsoft System
Center (OMIMSSC) for System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) Technical White Paper (Initial release A00), configure
Dell EMC Alert Relay Servers—previously known as Proxy Management Servers—using the OMIMSSC appliance version 7.2
and synchronize with the OMIMSSC appliance.
About this task
After deploying and setting up the OMIMSSC appliance for SCOM, if a service pack update is available with any necessary
critical defect fixes or feature additions made available then you can upgrade by using the Service Pack Update feature in
OMIMSSC. A few key benefits of service packs are:
● You can save the service pack files directly in any HTTP server and use the service pack files for updates.
● You can incrementally apply these service packs. However, you cannot roll back, if once updated.
● A service pack is cumulative-The latest service pack has fixes from all the previous releases.
NOTE:
Upgrading the OMIMSSC appliance from OMIMSSC versions 7.1 and 7.1.1 to OMIMSSC version 7.3 by using the
Service Pack Update feature is not supported. To upgrade, back up the data of your OMIMSSC appliance and restore it
in the OMIMSSC version 7.2 appliance. Use the service packs to upgrade OMIMSSC version 7.2 to version 7.3. For more
