Configuration of alert settings on iDRAC and SCOM
console
After discovering the PowerEdge Servers, the OMIMSSC appliance automatically performs the following actions on the target
iDRAC to receive alerts on the SCOM console:
The option to send alert notifications from iDRAC is enabled under System Settings > Alert Configuration > Alerts or
under Alert Settings depending on the PowerEdge Server.
Under SNMP Traps Configuration, the Destination Address is set to the IP address of the Alert Relay Server associated
with the device in an available Destination Number field.
On the SCOM console, a DellEMC_OMIMSSC_SNMP_RunAsAccount account of the Community String type is created on
the SCOM console. A corresponding Run As Configuration profileSNMP Monitoring Account is created with the SNMP v1
or v2 Community String. By default, the DellEMC_OMIMSSC_SNMP_RunAsAccount is associated with the Dell EMC Hardware
class. With the SNMP Monitoring account configured in SCOM, the Dell EMC Servers and Rack Workstation (licensed) alert
view displays the SNMP alerts from iDRAC. To update the SNMP v1 or v2 Community String or change the associated class, see
Create Run-As-Account for SNMP monitoring on page 122 and Associate multiple Run-As accounts on page 123.
