Release Notes
Remote Tasks
• If a server is discovered using WMI protocol and the iDRAC is discovered using IPMI protocol, the
server is not listed as a target for the “iDRAC Service Module Deployment” task and “F/W & Driver
Inventory” task.
• If OMSA upgrade is performed on an unsupported server using the “OMSA Deployment” task, the task
status is displayed as successful even though the upgrade failed.
• Servers running Windows 2012 Datacenter are considered as targets with 32-bit operating system
for “iDRAC Service Module Deployment” task, if the iDRAC is discovered using SNMP protocol.
• If a scheduled OMSA or iDRAC Service Module deployment task is cloned, the task will run on all
discovered targets.
• In the Agent and Alert Summary report, the iSM Agent Summary pie-chart and table display “iSM
deployable Linux” devices as “iSM capable Linux” devices. Even though two separate slices are
displayed in the pie-chart, clicking on either of the slices with “iSM capable Linux” displays a pop-up
of the actual “iSM capable Linux” devices. The pop-up for “iSM deployable Linux” devices is not
displayed from the pie-chart.
• When you try to delete a server deployment task along with the default "Deploy Configuration to
Undiscovered Devices" task, the Delete option is disabled. [49361 for reference]
• Reboot and shutdown power tasks are not successful on servers discovered using WMI protocol that
do not have OMSA installed.
Discovery and Inventory
• When the device group containing EqualLogic device is renamed, the name is reverted to the
previous name after next discovery/inventory cycle.
• Active Directory RAC Name attribute is not system specific in the device configuration template.
• The MAC address is not displayed in the NIC Information table when a PowerEdge M1000e chassis is
discovered and inventoried using WS-Man protocol.
• The Application Launch URL for OMSA and OMSS are incorrect when either the web-server
component of OMSA is installed on a different server or web-server component of OMSA is not
installed.
• The Summary page in the Discovery Range Configuration wizard displays an incorrect value for the
number of SNMP retry attempts.
Alerts
• Some alerts received from the OpenManage Storage Services (OMSS) are classified as unknown.
Enhancements
• The online catalog source field allows typing a custom location in the drop-down list.
• The About window displays the correct third-party licensing information.
Known Issues
System Updates
NOTE: OpenManage Essentials does not support the software update task on the management station.
This is because the software update task is interrupted and the final results of the update are not known.
You can perform software updates using the other Dell Tools.
Before creating an update task for non-compliant systems, it is recommended that you update to the
latest catalog from ftp.dell.com by clicking the “Get the latest” button under the System Update tab. Make
sure that you have Internet connectivity to download the latest catalog.
