9. Provide the following information for the primary contact to whom Dell must send alert notifications,
case status notifications, and so on:
Company Name — The company name must contain one or more printable characters, and must
not exceed 256 characters.
Country/Territory — Select your country or territory.
First Name — The first name can contain letters, quotation marks [ ’ ], periods [ . ], spaces, and
must not exceed 50 characters.
Last Name — The last name can contain letters, quotation marks [ ’ ], periods [ . ], spaces, and
must not exceed 50 characters.
Phone Number — It must contain a minimum of 10 characters and not exceed 50 characters.
Alternate Phone Number — Optional, with the same format and character requirements as the
Phone Number.
Email Address — Provide the email address in the name@company.com format. It must contain a
minimum of five characters and not exceed 50 characters.
Preferred Email Language — Select the desired language for SupportAssist email notifications.
Receive case information through email upon case generation — Select the check box to
receive an email when SupportAssist creates a support case.
10. Click Install.
The SupportAssist installation package is downloaded and installed. By default, SupportAssist is
installed at C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\Dell Integrated Support.
11. In the Installation Complete window, select Launch SupportAssist and click Finish.
SupportAssist opens in a web browser and the First-Time Setup screen is displayed.
NOTE: After the installation of SupportAssist, the Dell collection tools required by SupportAssist
are downloaded and installed in the background. If the collection tools are already installed on
the system, they are automatically migrated to a version compatible with SupportAssist.
Installing Repository Manager
Dell Repository Manager is an application that helps manage system updates easily and effectively. Using
Repository Manager, you can build a custom repository based on the managed system configurations
that are obtained from OpenManage Essentials.
To install Repository Manager:
1. Double-click the OpenManage Essentials executable file.
2. In Dell OpenManageInstall, select Dell Repository Manager, and then click Install.
3. In Dell Repository Manager - InstallShield Wizard, click Next.
4. In License Agreement, select I accept the terms in the license agreement, and click Next.
5. In Customer Information, do the following and click Next.
a) Provide user name and organization information.
b) Select either Anyone who uses this computer (all users) to make this application available to
everyone or Only for me (Windows User) to retain access.
6. In Destination Folder, use the default location or click Change to specify another location, and then
click
Next.
7. In Ready to Install the Program, click Install.
8. After the installation is complete, click Finish.
