Dell IT Assistant Migration To OpenManage Essentials

Important Changes Requiring Attention. Figure 16.

In previous versions of OpenManage Essentials, a server and RAC device (IDRAC5, IDRAC6 and IDRAC7)

discovered and inventoried together showing up as separate devices in the Device tree. In OME1.1

there is no distinction between servers and their RAC. If both server and RAC are discovered together

they show up in both the places in the Device Tree with the same name and information.

Newly discovered Chassis Management Controller (CMC) devices show up under the Modular Server

group and the RAC group in the Device Tree. The discovery and inventory data found in either location

is identical.

Following tasks will not migrate from Dell IT Assistant to OpenManage Essentials:

 Server Software Update

 Client Software Update

 IPMI Command Line

 Power Control Device (via ASF)

 Performance Management

 Import Dell Catalog

 Server Administrator Deployment for Windows

 Server Administrator Deployment for Linux

 Applaunch Alert Action

 Email Alert Action

 Trap Forwarding Alert Action
