Depending on the version of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server operating system, the ks-rhel6.cfg and ks-rhel7.cfg, ks_rhel6_ue.cfg
(only in UEFI mode), or ks_rhel7_ue.cfg (only in UEFI mode) les are the default names of the answer les to automate an unattended
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server installation. A sample copy of the ks-rhel6.cfg/ks-rhel7.cfg le is provided as part of the DTK download in
the /opt/dell/toolkit/template/congs directory. The ks-rhel6.cfg/ks-rhel7.cfg les contain the headings and parameters that instruct the
installation utility to perform various conguration tasks. Before a full deployment can be run, edit all appropriate headings and parameters,
as necessary.

lininst.sh, ensure that you rename the le to ks.cfg. To use the sample ks_rhel6_ue.cfg le to install Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Server (version 6) using lininst.sh, ensure that you rename the le to ks_ue.cfg.
NOTE: The sample les provided to install Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server (version 7) are ks-rhel7.cfg (in BIOS mode), and
ks_rhel7_ue.cfg (in UEFI mode). To use the sample ks-rhel7.cfg le to install Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server (version 7) using
linins7t.sh, ensure that you rename the le to ks.cfg. To use the sample ks_rhel7_ue.cfg le to install Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Server (version 7) using lininst7.sh, ensure that you rename the le to ks_ue.cfg.
NOTE: The sample les provided to install CentOS Server (version 6.x) are ks-centos6.cfg (in BIOS mode), and
ks_centos6_ue.cfg (in UEFI mode). To use the sample ks-centos6.cfg le to install CentOS Server (version 6.x) using
centinst6.sh, ensure that you rename the le to ks.cfg. To use the sample ks_centos6_ue.cfg le to install CentOS Server
(version 6.x) using centinst6.sh, ensure that you rename the le to ks_ue.cfg.
NOTE: The sample les provided to install CentOS Server (version 7.x) are ks-centos7.cfg (in BIOS mode), and
ks_centos7_ue.cfg (in UEFI mode). To use the sample ks-centos7.cfg le to install CentOS Server (version 7.x) using
centinst7.sh, ensure that you rename the le to ks.cfg . To use the sample ks_centos7_ue.cfg le to install CentOS Server
(version 7.x) using centinst7.sh, ensure that you rename the le to ks_ue.cfg.
NOTE: See your operating system documentation for instructions on modifying the options in the kick start le to customize the
scripted installation of your operating system.
When you have completed all necessary
modications of the kick start le, save the completed le in the /opt/dell/toolkit/systems/<target
system> directory.
