Using the Dell Services Role
The Dell Services Role displays the state of each Dell service running on the agent managed node. To set
the state of the Dell services, the Dell service discovery script must be run at least once for discovery
instances of Dell servers to exist. The state of the Dell services is updated based on the scheduled time
interval or by tasks.
The component name in the Dell Services in Dell State View reflects the corresponding
Dell
OpenManage Service name for releases prior to Dell OpenManage 5.2.

• DSM SA Data Manager - Systems Management Data Manager
• DSM SA Event Manager - Systems Management Event Manager
Accessing State Views for Dell Systems Using the Dell Services Role
In MOM, the State views are available in the MOM Operators Console.
To launch the MOM Operators Console, select Operations in the left tree view of the MOM
Administrator Console and click the Start Operators Console link in the right pane view.

The status of all components of the selected Dell system is displayed in the lower half of the right pane.
If a component is not applicable for a specific system, no details are displayed. The state of components
is periodically refreshed every 30 minutes or updated on receipt of alerts generated from
Dell
Instrumentation.
Viewing States for Dell Systems in the State View Using the Dell Services Role
The health of a component is derived by reviewing the unresolved alerts associated with the component.
