Dell Client Configuration Toolkit (CCTK) is a packaged software offering that provides configuration

capability to Dell client systems such as OptiPlex, Latitude, and Dell Precision workstation. You can

configure the client systems using a Graphical User Interface (GUI) or a Command Line Interface (CLI).

You can use CCTK in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments and Microsoft Windows Pre-installation

Environment (Windows PE), Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows

8.1 operating systems.

Importance

Dell recommends applying this update during your next scheduled update cycle. The update contains

feature enhancements or changes that will help keep your system software current and compatible with

other system modules (firmware, BIOS, drivers and software).

Resolution: These options will work after upgrading to future BIOS releases. Issue 2: Description: If the system is not connected to Internet, Windows 7 does not recognize the digital signature validity of CCTK installation file. Resolution: Connect the system to Internet and validate the digital signature. Issue 3: Description: To upgrade CCTK 1.0 to any future releases, uninstall CCTK 1.0 and install the current release.

Issue 11: Description: On Latitude XT2, the busratio option does not set the argument max. Issue 12: Description: When you install CCTK on a Linux system, after installing the omilcore rpm, the following message is displayed: "To start all installed services without a reboot, enter the following command: srvadmin-services.sh start". Resolution: You can ignore the message and can proceed with the installation of other rpms.

Issue 22: Description: CCTK does not allow enumerating ‘Secure Boot’ when it is disabled. However, there is no negative impact due to this on the BIOS. This issue will be addressed in the upcoming BIOS version. Issue 23: Description: OROM UI Protection configures OROM keyboard access on the following Dell platforms: • Latitude E6x30,E5x30; • Dell Precision Mobile M4700,M4500; • Dell Precision Workstation T1650; • Optiplex 9010, 7010.

Issue 3: Description: CCTK GUI supports only printable characters for its text-entry fields. If the BIOS has nonprintable characters, the GUI may fail to load and display the following error message: "Unexpected Error at System.Xml". Resolution: Make sure that BIOS options like asset and propowntag values do not contain non-printable characters.

SCE Issue: SCE (self-contained executable) generated using the ‘Export’ option in GUI cannot be run in Win PE environments Resolution: Use the alternative steps mentioned below to configure the BIOS in Win PE environment from SCE. Prerequisites • Install CCTK on a supported Windows operating system. • Launch CCTK GUI. • Select appropriate configuration settings in the CCTK GUI. • Export the settings as a SCE.

Issue 2: Description: If SCE is applied on a system with 64-bit Windows operating system, on which OMCI is running, the OMCI data manager service stops. Resolution: Reboot the system to start the OMCI service. The reboot also ensures that the BIOS settings are correctly applied as many of the BIOS settings require a system reboot.
