8 Introduction
What’s New in BMC Management Utility 2.0
The BMC Management Utility (BMU) 2.0 has the following new features:
• Interactive mode for the IPMI Shell.
• New commands for IPMI Shell and SOL Proxy to connect to remote BMC and display sensor status.
• Choice of menu and command mode in SOL Proxy.
• Support for the following baud rate for BMC serial communication and SOL:
19200 for PowerEdge 1425SC
and other PowerEdge x8xx systems.
57600 for PowerEdge
x9xx systems without Dell Remote Access Controller (DRAC) 5.
57600 and 115200 for PowerEdge
x9xx systems with DRAC 5.
• SOL activation through IPMI Shell interactive mode.
• Configuration of each SOL proxy server for up to 20 simultaneous SOL sessions.
• Support for SUSE
®
Linux Enterprise Server.
