Example
In the following example, after 5 un-successful login attempts, the session (SSH/
TELNET) goes into a locked state for 5 minutes. If all the 10 sessions are locked out
with 5 un-successful attempts in each session, no users can login during the
lockout-period.
Dell(conf)#password-attributes max-retry 5 lockout-period 5

Usage
Information
CAUTION: Encrypting passwords with this command does not provide a
high level of security. When the passwords are encrypted, you cannot return
them to plain text unless you re-configure them. To remove an encrypted
password, use the no password password command.
