The stacking units can be connected while they are powered up or down. When a switch is added to a stack,

the management unit performs a system check on the new unit to ensure that the hardware type is compatible.

Similarly, a check is performed on the Dell Networking Operating System Version.

The following is the sample configuration on one of the units:

MasterUnit(conf)#stack-unit 1 stack-group 1
