Usage
Information
Dell Networking recommends configuring metrics on all interfaces. Without configuring this command, the
IS-IS metrics are similar to hop-count metrics.
isis network point-to-point
Enable the software to treat a broadcast interface as a point-to-point interface.
Syntax
isis network point-to-point
To disable the feature, use the no isis network point-to-point command.
Defaults Not enabled.

isis password
Configure an authentication password for an interface.
Syntax
isis password [hmac-md5] password [level-1 | level-2]
To delete a password, use the no isis password [password] [level-1 | level-2]
command.
Parameters
encryption-type
(OPTIONAL) Enter 7 to encrypt the password using DES.
hmac-md5 (OPTIONAL) Enter the keywords hmac-md5 to encrypt the password using MD5.
password
Assign the interface authentication password.
level-1 (OPTIONAL) Independently configures the authentication password for Level 1.
The router acts as a station router for Level 1 routing. This setting is the default.
level-2 (OPTIONAL) Independently configures the authentication password for Level 2.
The router acts as an area router for Level 2 routing.
Defaults No default password. level-1 (if not otherwise specified).
