Information
The following describes the debug ip ospf command shown in the Example below.
Field Description
8:14 Displays the time stamp.
OSPF Displays the OSPF process ID: instance ID.
v: Displays the OSPF version. Dell EMC Networking OS supports version 2 only.
t: Displays the type of packet sent:
● 1 - Hello packet
● 2 - database description
● 3 - link state request
● 4 - link state update
● 5 - link state acknowledgement
l: Displays the packet length.
rid: Displays the OSPF router ID.
aid: Displays the Autonomous System ID.
chk: Displays the OSPF checksum.
aut: States if OSPF authentication is configured. One of the following is listed:
● 0 - no authentication configured
● 1 - simple authentication configured using the ip ospf authentication-
key command
● 2 - MD5 authentication configured using the ip ospf message-digest-
key command
auk: If the ip ospf authentication-key command is configured, this field
displays the key used.
keyid: If the ip ospf message-digest-key command is configured, this field
displays the MD5 key
to: Displays the interface to which the packet is intended.
dst: Displays the destination IP address.
netmask: Displays the destination IP address mask.
pri: Displays the OSPF priority
N, MC, E, T Displays information available in the Options field of the HELLO packet:
● N + (N-bit is set)
● N - (N-bit is not set)
● MC+ (bit used by MOSPF is set and router is able to forward IP multicast
packets)
● MC- (bit used by MOSPF is not set and router cannot forward IP multicast
packets)
● E + (router is able to accept AS External LSAs)
