Example
The following example sets the authorization details value for VRRP router
group 5 on VLAN 15.
console(config)#interface vlan 15
console(config-if-vlan15)#vrrp 2 authentication simple test123
vrrp description
Use the vrrp description command in Interface Configuration mode to assign
a description to the Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP) group. To
remove the description, use the no form of the command.
Syntax
vrrp group description

—The virtual router identifier. (Range: 1-255)

—Description for the virtual router group up to 80 characters.
Default Configuration
No description is present.
Command Mode
Interface Configuration (VLAN) mode.
User Guidelines
This command accepts any printable characters for the name. Descriptions
containing spaces must be wrapped with quotes.
Example
The following example creates virtual router group 5 on VLAN 15 and
configures its description.
console(config)#interface vlan 15
console(config-if-vlan15)#vrrp 5
console(config-if-vlan15)#vrrp 5 description “Sales and Marketing”
