3) Reports Not Deployed (DF208194) & Report generation is giving
error message
(DF210581)
Immediately after importing the Dell Server and Printer Management
Pack, if you try importing any Dell report, the error message –
“Cannot initialize report.
The item "/Dell.connections.001/Dell.Connections.Report.* log'
cannot be found” is displayed.
This may be due to the following reasons:
a) RMS, Reporting and Database servers don’t match the recommended
configuration.
b) OpsMgr takes time to deploy the reports. Microsoft provides a
hotfix (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/954643/en-us) to have these
reports deployed in few minutes compared to the 30min-2hr timeframe.
4) Health service is crashing while running the discovery wizard
(DF225784)
This is a Microsoft issue where the Discovery wizard throws an
exception "IPC failed to connect" when the health service is down.
Health service may be down due to invalid configurations of RMS
server as Agents of multiple management groups.
5) Not able to execute IPMISH tasks when BMU is installed in
Non-default location
(DF200589)
Tasks like Dell MP Power and LED Identification only use the ipmish
executable in the default C:\Program Files\Dell\SysMgt\bmc folder.
On a 64bit OM install, or custom directory install, These tasks will
not function. You will need to follow the steps mentioned in the
- Dell(TM) Management Pack Version 3.1
For Microsoft(R) System Center Operations Manager 2007 SP1 and System
Center Essentials 2007 SP1 User’s Guide.
6) Dell alerts are not sorted on Age column selection
(DF217179)
Previous Management Packs and User Personalization settings can
override Dell MP 3.1 view settings. This is stored in the registry
path HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Operations
Manager\3.0\Console\ %GUID%. AlertView\Age
If this is deleted, the new registry folder will be recreated from
the new MP or you can edit the sort flags IsSortable and IsSorted to
1.
7) Dell Printer and DRAC objects may include other objects under it
in Dell Diagram view in SCE
The SCE Network Device Monitoring Library discovers and monitors
certain Network Device components which also will be included in Dell
diagram views.
8) Operations Manager Health Service may stop due to certain Monitor
thresholds. The Workaround for this issue is to modify the following
threshold settings for the Monitors:
1. Go to the Authoring pane
2. Select Authoring-> Management Pack Objects-> Monitors
3. Select Target as "Agent"
4. Select Entity Health-> Performance-> Health Service Performance
