Introduction
This document is intended for system administrators who use the
Dell™ Management Pack to monitor and manage Dell systems.
With the integration of the Management Pack with Operations Manager 2007
and System Center Essentials 2007 environment, you can monitor, manage
and ensure the availability of your Dell devices (Dell systems and printers).
The Management Pack provides a list of Dell-specific views that you can use
to monitor the system status in a network. The status is based on Windows
Management Instrumentation (WMI) queries on your Dell systems, and alerts
that are generated when an event is received from the Microsoft Windows
®
operating system event log.
NOTICE: The procedures in this document should be performed only by persons
with knowledge and experience in using the Microsoft Windows operating system
and the Operations Manager 2007 or System Center Essentials 2007. Due to the
possibility of data corruption and/or data loss, Dell recommends that only those
persons use the procedures described in this document.
NOTE: The Management Pack also supports Microsoft System Center Essentials 2007.
All references to Operations Manager 2007 in this guide are applicable to System
Center Essentials 2007 as well.
