Prerequisites
• If you use the network share, set the correct Network Settings . See "Using
USC Settings Wizard" on page 19 for more information.
• If you are storing the exported file in an USB device, ensure that an USB
device is connected to the managed node.
• If you are storing the exported file in network share, ensure that you have
shared folder with the correct login credentials.
To export the hardware inventory:
1 Click Hardware Configuration on the left pane.
2 Click Export Hardware Inventory on the right pane .
3 Select USB Device, or Network Share , or both.
USB Device
Select USB Device if you are exporting the inventory log to a local USB
device.
a Select the correct device from the Choose Device drop-down menu
and enter the path to the folder.
If the path is not provided, the file is stored in the root location of the
device.
b Click Finish .
Network Share
Select Network Share if you want to store the file in a shared folder on a
network.
To update using Network Share, select either CIFS or NFS and type the
following details:
For CIFS
• Share Name — Type the path to the shared folder where you must
store the file. For example, type
\\xxx.xxx.xx.xx\HrdInvLog .
• Domain and User Name — Type the correct domain and user
name required to log on to the network share. For example,
myDomain\login-name , and if there is no domain, type the login-
name.
