Overview 1 The Dell Intel vPRO AMT Plugin for Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2011/2012 Essentials is an easy-to-use application that provides an out-of-band management solution. The application allows you to remotely manage client systems regardless of the state of system power.
Installing Dell Intel vPRO AMT Plugin 2 This chapter provides steps to install, uninstall, and upgrade Dell Intel vPRO AMT Plugin for Microsoft Windows Small Business Server (SBS) 2011/2012 Essentials. Pre-requisites to Install Dell Intel vPro AMT Plugin This section lists the pre-requisites to install Dell Intel vPro AMT Plugin: • Install Windows Small Business Server 2011/2012 Essentials.

Configuring BIOS Settings This feature allows you to remotely configure, change, and reset the BIOS settings on one or several client systems. 1. Launch the Dell Intel vPro AMT Plugin. For more information, see Launching the Dell Intel vPro AMT Plugin. 2. On the Home screen, click Client Configuration. 3. On the Client Configuration window, click BIOS Settings. The BIOS Settings tab is displayed. 4.
The BIOS Passwords tab is displayed. 4. Select one of the following options: – Clear — clear either the Admin or System password. NOTE: To clear the Admin password you have to clear the System password as well. – Set — enter and confirm the Admin or System password. NOTE: Client systems have to reboot after setting the Admin or System passwords. – Length — you can specify the minimum and maximum length for the Admin and System password. 5.
– Schedule — to schedule a time for client system's hard disk wipe. For more information, see Scheduling Wipe Client Disk. NOTE: To schedule a Remote Wipe Client Disk operation, the client must be accessible through a network. – Retrieve — to retrieve status of client system's hard disk wipe. For more information, see Retrieving Wipe Client Disk Status. Scheduling Wipe Client Disk Wipe Client Disk feature will format the hard disks of the Dell client systems. Generating Reports This feature allows you to generate and view detailed reports on OOB Manageability, Provisioning, Battery Health of notebook client-systems, and Hardware Inventory reports for single or multiple-client systems. These reports can be exported as a spreadsheet or printed. 1.

Application Preferences On this screen you can configure and set the preferences for different components of the application like: • Account Setup • KVM Setup • Logging • Task Queue • Discover Systems Account Setup You can setup and configure the account through which you want to manage your iAMT enabled client systems. 1.
Logging Set the preferences for the type of logs, level of logging, and location of the logs you want to capture by Dell Intel vPro AMT Plugin. 1. Launch the Dell Intel vPro AMT Plugin. For more information, see Launching the Dell Intel vPro AMT Plugin. 2. On the Home screen, click Application Preferences. 3. On the Welcome screen, click Logging. The Logging screen is displayed. 4. Select one of the following type of Logs from the Log Level drop-down menu: 5. – None — no logs are captured.
5. – By IP Range — specify an IP range to search for Dell client systems Select the client systems to manage and click Add. 6. Select one of following option to add the client systems to the database. 7. – Add New Systems Only — adds the client-systems that were previously not discovered from the list of selected client system. – Add/Update Systems— adds and updates all the selected client systems.
