3.4.1.2 S3048 VLAN and Port Channel configuration

Figure 12 shows the VLAN and the Port Channel configuration information about the

S3048 management switch.

The S3048 switch is preconfigured with two segregated VLANs:

 VLAN 10 for the public management traffic coming in to the DISOD solution rack,

 VLAN 30 for the private management traffic to securely access the DISOD

hardware components from within the rack. VLAN 30 is also preconfigured with a

virtual IP address that is used as the management IP address.

The physical management port on the switch is not configured. Customers can choose to

configure this port, if necessary. RSTP is enabled across the switch with a low bridge

priority of 40960 to ensure that this switch does not become the root bridge and cause

any network disruption when plugged in to the customer’s public network. In general,

customers are not required to change this bridge priority value.
