As shown in the example in Figure 10 and in general, the switch configuration design is as
follows:
The two switch ports in the same column connect to two ports on either the same
DAAD node or on the same database node
The DAAD or the database node number increases from left to right
o Port range 015 is designated and used for connecting to the DAAD nodes
o Port range 1631 is designated and used for connecting to the database
nodes
Port range 3247 usage is undefined. Potential use cases:
o To connect to additional database nodes in other expansion DISOD racks
o To connect to database backup servers
Each of the 6510 switches is configured with port-based zoning. As part of this, each
initiator port on the database nodes along with all the ports from the DAAD storage array
are configured in its own zone on the switch.
