The advanced port replicator (APR) also includes an integrated network interface controller (NIC) to enable you to connect the computer to a network. Use the instructions in this document to attach external devices to the port replicator and to connect your computer to the port replicator.
7DEOH ([WHUQDO &RQQHFWRUV FRQWLQXHG &RQQHFWRU ,FRQV ([WHUQDO 'HYLFHV An external PS/2-style mouse connects to the PS/2 mouse connector. An external PS/2-style keyboard or external numeric keypad connects to the PS/2 keyboard connector. A serial device, such as a serial mouse or external modem, connects to the serial port connector. A parallel device, such as a printer, connects to the parallel port connector. An external monitor connects to the monitor connector.
1. Refer to Figure 1-1 to attach external devices to the appropriate connectors on the back of the port replicator. NOTES: If the cable connector from the external device has thumbscrews, be sure to tighten them to ensure a proper connection. To connect the computer to a network, you must have a network card in your computer. The advanced port replicator has a network card, so another card is not required.
