Removing the power button
Prerequisites
1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
2. Enter Service Mode.
3. Remove the base cover.
4. Remove the fan.
5. Remove the display assembly.
6. Remove the I/O board.

Steps
1. Remove the two screws (M1.6x2) that secure the power button to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
2. Lift the power button off the slot on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
