WinRM and OpenWSMAN installation and
configuration
It is recommended to use WinRM 3.0 on Windows Management Stations. WinRM 3.0 is installed by default as a part of Windows
8, Windows 10, and Windows Server 2012. It can also be installed as a part of the Windows Management Framework Core
package on the following operating systems:
● Windows Server 2008 SP1
● Windows Server 2008 SP2
● Windows Server 2003 SP2
● Windows Vista SP1
● Windows Vista SP2
● Windows XP SP3
● Windows Server 2012
● Windows 8
● Windows 10
NOTE:
If you use WinRM and WSMAN to configure many attributes, 60 attributes or more, you may observe a iDRAC
timeout failure. To avoid the iDRAC timeout failure, you can use Server Configuration Profile (SCP) methodology to perform
the setup operation.
For more information on how to install WinRM 3.0 as a part of the Windows Management Framework Core package, see article
968929 in the Microsoft Knowledge Base at technet.microsoft.com/.
For versions of Windows Remote Management, see technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff520073(v=ws.10).aspx
To install and configure Windows Remote Management, see msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/
