Using the iDRAC Configuration
Utility
Overview
The iDRAC Configuration Utility is a pre-boot configuration environment
that allows you to view and set parameters for the iDRAC6 and for the
managed server. Specifically, you can:
View the firmware revision numbers for the iDRAC6 and Primary
Backplane firmware
Enable, or disable the iDRAC6 local area network
Enable or disable IPMI Over LAN
Configure LAN parameters
Configure Virtual Media
Configure Smart Card
Change the administrative username and password
Reset the iDRAC configuration to the factory defaults
View System Event Log (SEL) messages or clear messages from the log
Configure LCD
Configure System Services
The tasks you can perform using iDRAC configuration utility can also be
performed using other utilities provided by the iDRAC or Dell™
OpenManage™ software, including the Web-based interface, the SM-CLP
command line interface, and the local RACADM command line interface.
