Using iDRAC6 Web Interface to Enable Discovery
and Monitoring
IPMI Discovery can also be enabled through the remote Web interface:

Open a supported Web browser window.

Log in to iDRAC6 Web interface using a login and password with
Administrator rights.

In the system tree, select
System

iDRAC Settings

Network/Security
tab.
The
Network
screen is displayed.

In the
IPMI Settings
section, ensure the
Enable IPMI Over LAN
check
box is selected (checked).

From the
Channel Privilege Level Limit
drop-down menu, select
Administrator
.

Enter your site's
RMCP+ Encryption Key
, if used.

Click
Apply
if you made any changes on this screen.

In the system tree, select
System

Alert Management
tab

Platform
Events
.
The
Platform Events
screen is displayed, displaying a list of events for
which you can configure iDRAC6 to generate alerts.

Enable alerts for one or more events by selecting the check box in the
Generate Alert
column.

Click
Apply
if you made any changes on this screen.

Click
Trap Settings
. The
Trap Settings
screen is displayed.

In the
IPv4 Destination List
section, in the first available
Destination IP
Address
field, select the
Enabled
check box, and then enter the IP address
of your Management Station.

Repeat step 12 for the
IPv6 Destination List
section.

Click
Apply
. You can click
Send
to send a test trap alert.

Email Alert Settings
. The
Email Alert Settings
screen is displayed.
