Installing the iDRAC Service Module using SSH or Local
Command Shell
1. Copy the ISO file to either the Citrix XenServer host or a remote ISO library share mounted to the host. Consult Citrix XenServer
documentation for further details. .
2. Install the supplemental pack:
$ xe-install-supplemental-pack < iDRACServiceModule-supplemental-pack-filename>.iso
NOTE: Invalid signature while installing Supplemental pack (Update package): If the error “Invalid Signature” occurs
during the iDRAC Service Module supplemental pack installation, the proper Dell GPG Key does not exist in the host
signature database. This is possible on Citrix XenServer 7.1 installation and the key must first be manually imported
to each host. For more information about importing DELL GPG keys to Citrix XenServer 7.1, see Importing DELL GPG
keys to Citrix XenServer .
Installing iDRAC Service Module when the System
Configuration Lock Down Mode is enabled
When the System Configuration Lock Down Mode is enabled through iDRAC, no configuration operations can be performed for
iDRACService Module. All the features that were enabled before the System Configuration Lock Down Mode was turned on will continue
to be enabled. If iSM is installed after the System Configuration Lock Down Mode is enabled, then only the iSM features that were
enabled earlier will be available for the users. Whenever the System Configuration Lock Down Mode is turned off in iDRAC, then all the
configuration operations can be performed.
Support for iDRAC URI to get iSM installer
Starting from 14th generation of servers, you can download the iSM web packs by using the following URL: https:// <iDRACIP>/
software/ism/package.xml. To download the packages, iSM LC DUP should be uploaded and available in iDRAC. This can also be loaded in
iDRAC by enabling the iDRAC LC auto-update.
To download the packages, use the filename present in the xml to append to the URL.
