● Is Dell Hybrid Client an application based on Ubuntu operating system?
Yes, Dell Hybrid Client is an application stack based on the Ubuntu 18.04 operating system. It is a desktop solution by Dell
that follows the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model of software delivery.
● Which edition of Wyse Management Suite does Dell Hybrid Client v1.1 support?
Dell Hybrid Client v1.1 is supported on Wyse Management Suite Pro version 3.1 and later.
● Which versions of Citrix and VMware clients does Dell Hybrid Client v1.1 support?
Dell Hybrid Client v1.1 supports Citrix Workspace app version 2010 and VMware Horizon Client version 2006.
● Can I add a user group based on OUs in Active Directory?
Dell Hybrid Client supports OU User Group on Wyse Management Suite.
● What takes precedence between Wyse Management Suite and Dell Hybrid Client local UI when conflicting
settings are enforced?
Configurations that are editable from the Device Settings UI take higher priority than those set from the Wyse Management
Suite server. Settings that are supported as part of the user profile are preserved across devices. These settings are
applicable only for the logged-in AD user. Few configurations such as Wallpaper cannot be configured using Wyse
Management Suite and must be configured locally. Such settings are applied to a specific user profile on that particular
device.
● Will the changes made to the local device by one user have any effect on the user profile of a second user who
logs in to the same device?
The user-specific settings are not applied to another user profile. When a user configures the Device Settings using either
Wyse Management Suite or the local UI, the user-specific configurations are preserved. Configurations that are not
supported in user personalization (profile roaming) are saved locally in the device and are applied to that user profile during
the next login.
● Does Dell Hybrid Client support two-factor authentication such as Azure multifactor authentication?
Dell Hybrid Client does not support two-factor authentication.
● Does Dell Hybrid Client support the Relative Mouse Button feature in VMware Blast or PCoIP?
There is no specific setting in Wyse Management Suite to enable or disable the Relative Mouse Button feature. If VMware
supports this feature in Linux clients, it will work in Dell Hybrid Client.
● Who are the major cloud providers supported by Dell Hybrid Client?
Dell Hybrid Client supports Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.
● Can you recover Dell Hybrid Client by recovering the partition on the Wyse 5070 device?
Dell Hybrid Client can be recovered from the recovering partition on the Wyse 5070 device.
● How to recover the Dell Hybrid Client if the device does not boot?
You must reimage the device from the recovery partition.
● Can troubleshooting logs for Dell Hybrid Client be extracted?
You can use Wyse Management Suite to extract the log files, or enable dev mode on Dell Hybrid Client to extract logs to a
USB drive using the local device settings.
● Is Dell Hybrid Client preinstalled on OptiPlex 7070 Ultra?
Dell Hybrid Client is not preinstalled on OptiPlex 7070 Ultra. It is preloaded into the recovery partition but is not installed in
the main operating system partition. You must manually install Dell Hybrid Client from recovery partition to the main
operating system partition using Wyse Management Suite.
