Table 13. File Explorer—additional features
Feature Summary
File Sync File Synchronization happens only when the user logs in the next time on the same device, provided the
local file or local drive file is opened in a cloud application.
For example, opening the cloud drive files in VDI or local applications and any modifications are only
synchronized during next user login.
Copy and Paste Copy and Paste function is supported between local to local drivers and external drives. If you modify
while the file is opened in cloud, you must log out and log in before copying the file. The progress bar is
not supported for the copy function. You must click the sync button to view the copied file.
Move one or more
files
Move function is supported between local to local drivers and external drives. If you modify while the file
is opened in cloud, you must log out and log in before moving the file. The progress bar is not supported
for the move function.
Offline mode Cloud files can be made available in offline mode, where user can use the file when network is not
available. Cloud files are saved offline automatically when there is no network connection. Offline files
are automatically synchronized during subsequent cloud logins based on the file modification time.
However, the file is automatically deleted after seven days from the time file was marked as offline and
not synchronized to cloud. To avoid auto deletion of the file, you should synchronize the file before
seven days.
You can also save cloud files manually for offline use. For more information about saving cloud files for
offline use, see Save cloud files for offline use.
NOTE: You can manually upload cloud files of any size. However, the automatic synchronization of
VDI files that you edited offline is limited to 4 MB for Azure.
For more information about the feature limitations, see the Dell Hybrid Client v1.0 Release Notes at www.dell.com/support.
