New and enhanced features
Supports Local User Account Properties
Added the option Local User Account Properties in Wyse Management Suite policy settings. To access this option, go to
Device Policy Group > Advanced > Privacy & Security > Local User Account Properties. This option enables you to
create a local user to retain a configuration or setting after reboot. Local user can be configured and managed from Wyse
Management Suite. The local user account is disabled by default, to configure the local user, you must enable the Local user
account toggle key in Local User Account Properties. The following options are displayed when you enable the Local user
account:
Set username for Local userYou may set username for the local user account by using this option.
Set password for Local userYou may set password for the local user account by using this option.
Auto SignOnThe Auto SignOn option is disabled by default. You may enable the toggle key to turn on Auto SignOn for
Local user.
Admin RightsThe Admin Rights option is disabled by default. You may enable the toggle key to turn on Admin Rights
for Local user.
NOTE: Enable the Admin Rights to get the privilege to run the root commands using sudo.
Remove Device Lock and Password prompt on wakeupThe option Remove Device Lock and Password prompt on
wakeup is disabled by default. You can enable this option to unlock the device without the password prompt.
NOTE: Enabling this option is a security risk.
Troubleshooting
Added the Troubleshooting option in the local device settings to allow IT administrators to diagnose and resolve client issues.
To enable the Troubleshooting option, enter the Bremen Password and click Authenticate. After a valid authentication, the
following troubleshooting options are displayed:
GeneralThe General tab provides the option Export DHC Log. You may export the DHC logs using the Export to
Downloads and Export to USB options.
PingThe Ping tab provides the option to check the ping functionality, with IP/Host Name, and Packet Count.
NOTE: Packet count is in the range of 1 to 25.
TracerouteThe Traceroute tab provides the option to check the traceroute functionality for the IP/Host Name.
TraceThe Trace tab provides the option to export the Network Packets and USB Packets to the Downloads folder or
USB drive.
ToolsThe Tools tab is displayed when development mode is disabled from GRUB menu. This tab displays the option Open
terminal. On clicking Open terminal, a Security Warning is displayed. When you click Yes, the terminal launches, and
remains active until the device settings session is active. On clicking No, the terminal launch cancels.
NOTE: When Device Settings is closed all active terminal is closed automatically without any notification.
Registry location
The Dell Hybrid Client enables you to use two methods to set the custom values for registry location. The methods are as below:
Use the command set_custom_info <key>:<value> in developers mode, where <key> can have one of the following values:
