Figure 23 and Figure 24 present the same performance data but plotted relative to the one-node or one-
core result. This makes it easy to see the scaling of the solution—the performance improvement when
more cores are used for the analysis. Problem scalability depends on many factors including the number
of degrees of freedom in the problem and on the particular solution type and solver being used. For the
DMP solver with 256 cores, scaling for all of the benchmark problems ranges from 1.4–5.4. For the SMP
solver with 16 processor cores, scaling ranges from 2.9–5.0 across all the benchmark problems.
