B SC and SCv Fibre Channel Zoning
Front-end zoning on a Fibre Channel fabric can be configured using either World Wide Name (WWN)
zoning or Brocade Peer Zoning.
Storage Center zones when using WWN zoning:
• Include all Storage Center virtual WWPNs in a single zone.
• Include all Storage Center physical WWPNs in a single zone.
Server zones when using WWN zoning:
• For each server HBA port, create a zone that includes the HBA port WWPN and multiple Storage Center
virtual WWPNs in the same FC fabric.
Storage Center zone when using Peer Zoning:
• Include all Storage Center physical WWPNs in a single standard WWN zone.
Server zone when using Peer Zoning:
• Include all Storage Center virtual WWPNs as the Principal Members of the Peer Zone.
• Include all server HBA port WWPNs as the Peer Members of the Peer Zone.
NOTE: Brocade FOS 8.1 or greater is required to include aliases in Peer Zones.
SC to SC replication zoning on a Fibre Channel fabric can be configured with WWN zoning.
Storage Center replication zones when using WWN zoning:
• Include all designated physical WWPNs from system A and system B in a single zone.
• Include all designated physical WWPNs of system A and the virtual WWPNs of system B in a single zone.
• Include all designated physical WWPNs of system B and the virtual WWPNs of system A in a single.
Note: Not all SC ports must be used or dedicated for SC replication, however ports that are used must be in
these zones and in the same FC fabric.
Note: Do not use Brocade Peer Zoning for Fibre Channel Replication zones.
