3 Installing Identity Module
The procedure to install the Identity Module is as follows:
1. Upload and install the Identity Module file.
2. Reset the iDRAC.
3. Set BIOS to defaults.
3.1 Uploading and installing Identity Module file
1. Log in to the iDRAC web interface using a web browser.
The link for the iDRAC web interface is http://<idrac_ip>.
2. Navigate to the following page:
- iDRAC 9: Click Maintenance System Update.
- iDRAC 8/7: In the left navigation pane, click Update and Rollback.
3. Click Browse to locate and open the CustBSU.pm file and then click Upload.
Ensure to upload only the CustBSU.pm file.
4. After the upload is complete, check the box next to the uploaded file under Update Details and then
click Install.
5. After the installation begins, a System Alert message is displayed. To view the status of the
installation, click Job Queue. The job is listed as Firmware Update: OEM ID Module job.
After the installation is complete, the job status displays Completed. After the job is complete, reset iDRAC.

3.2 Resetting iDRAC
1. Reset iDRAC using the following options:
- iDRAC 9: Navigate to Maintenance Diagnostics. Click Reset iDRAC.
- iDRAC 8/7: Navigate to Server Properties Summary.
Under System Summary Quick Launch Tasks, click Reset iDRAC.
The iDRAC reset process takes 2-3 minutes.
2. To ensure that all branding options are displayed correctly, close the browser windows and clear the
browser cache.
3. After the iDRAC is reset and you are able to log in to the iDRAC, reboot the server.
You can reboot the server using the web interface, using the virtual console, or directly from the
server.
Note: During the rebranding process, the system automatically restarts again to perform Collect
System Inventory On Reboot (CSIOR).
4. At the second reboot, press F2 to enter System Setup on the host system.
Note: If you do not press F2 at the second reboot, wait for the system to boot, restart the system, and
try again.
