Default iSCSI Optimization Values
Table 18-1 shows the default values for the iSCSI optimization feature.
iSCSI Optimization Prerequisites
• iSCSI optimization requires LLDP on the switch. LLDP is disabled by default (refer to Chapter 21,
Link Layer Discovery Protocol).
Configuring iSCSI Optimization
This feature is available on platforms
To configure iSCSI optimization on a switch, follow these steps:
Displaying iSCSI Optimization Information
This feature is available on platforms:
Table 18-1. iSCSI Optimization: Default Parameters
Parameter Default Value
iSCSI Optimization global setting Disabled
Note: This is recommended for Dell EqualLogic customers who deploy the S60 and S4810 platforms in
their iSCSI environment.
Note: Not following the commands in this sequence may result in partial iSCSI optimizations parameters
being enabled, which is not recommended.
Step Task Command Command Mode
1 (Pre-requisite) For all 1G interfaces on the S60 and S4810, configure them as switchports. For more information
on configuring switchports, refer to Chapter 15, Interfaces.
2 (Pre-requisite) Enable LLDP protocol on the ports on the S60 and S4810 platforms to be connected to the Dell
EqualLogic storage array. For more information, refer to Chapter 21, Link Layer Discovery Protocol.
3 Enable iscsi optimization on the ports to be connected
to the Dell EqualLogic storage array.
