Syntax
distance bgp external-distance internal-distance local-distance
To return to default values, enter no distance bgp.

Usage
Information
The higher the administrative distance assigned to a route means that your confidence in that route is
low. Routes assigned an administrative distance of 255 are not installed in the routing table. Routes
from confederations are treated as internal BGP routes.
updates Enter the keyword updates to view BGP update information.
in (OPTIONAL) Enter the keyword in to view only BGP updates received
from neighbors.
out (OPTIONAL) Enter the keyword out to view only BGP updates sent to
neighbors.

external-distance
Enter a number to assign to routes learned from a neighbor external to the AS.
Range: 1 to 255.
Default: 20
internal-distance
Enter a number to assign to routes learned from a router within the AS.
Range: 1 to 255.
Default: 200
local-distance
Enter a number to assign to routes learned from networks listed in the network
command.
Range: 1 to 255.
Default: 200
Caution: Force10 Networks recommends that you do not change the administrative
distance of internal routes. Changing the administrative distances may cause routing table
inconsistencies.
