Writes a crash log file to the CRASH_LOG directory.
Writes a core dump file to the CORE_DUMP directory for kernel or application core dumps.
Crash logs
The CRASH_LOG directory saves critical information about a task crash on a line card in a format which
can be read with the command
show file. This file contains:
List and state of all the tasks
Task trace of all tasks
Stack dump of the current stack frame
Each file is assigned a unique name and number related to the line card number, and a time stamp with the
time and date of crash.
A task crash event is reported via a message similar to the one in Message 11.
The FTOS TME process is responsible for detecting any suspended tasks and rebooting the card.
Core dumps
FTOS supports mini and full core dumps on the line cards and the RPMs for application and kernel
crashes.
RPM core dumps
RPM application and kernel core dumps are always enabled.
New files are written into flash until space is exhausted. When the flash is full, the write process is stopped.
