Version Description
9.9(0.0) Introduced on the FN IOM.
8.3.16.1 Introduced on the MXL 10/40GbE Switch IO Module.
Usage Information
In OSPF, ooding is the most resource-consuming task. The ooding algorithm, described in RFC-2328, requires
that OSPF ood LSAs (Link State Advertisements) on all interfaces, as governed by LSA’s ooding scope (see
Section 13 of the RFC). When multiple direct links connect two routers, the RFC-2328 ooding algorithm
generates signicant redundant information across all links.
By default, the system implements an enhanced ooding procedure that dynamically and intelligently determines
when to optimize ooding. Whenever possible, the OSPF task attempts to reduce ooding overhead by selectively
ooding on a subset of the interfaces between two routers.
When you enable flood-2328, this command congures the system to ood LSAs on all interfaces.
graceful-restart grace-period
Species the time duration, in seconds, that the router’s neighbors continue to advertise the router as fully adjacent regardless of the
synchronization state during a graceful restart.
Syntax
graceful-restart grace-period seconds
To disable the grace period, use the no graceful-restart grace-period command.
Parameters
seconds Time duration, in seconds, that species the duration of the restart process before OSPF
terminates the process. The range is from 40 to 1800 seconds.
Defaults Not Congured

graceful-restart helper-reject
Specify the OSPF router to not act as a helper during graceful restart.
Syntax
graceful-restart helper-reject ip-address
To return to default value, use the no graceful-restart helper-reject command.
Parameters
ip-address Enter the OSPF router-id, in IP address format, of the restart router that will not act as a
helper during graceful restart.
Defaults Not congured.
