Information
The max-hops is a configuration command that applies to both the IST and all MST instances in the
MSTP region. The BPDUs sent out by the root switch set the remaining-hops parameter to the
configured value of max-hops. When a switch receives the BPDU, it decrements the received value of
the remaining hops and uses the resulting value as remaining-hops in the BPDUs. If the
remaining-hops reaches zero, the switch discards the BPDU and ages out any information that it holds
for the port.
msti
Configure multiple spanning tree instance, bridge priority, and one or multiple VLANs mapped to the
MST instance.
Syntax
msti instance {vlan range | bridge-priority priority}
To disable mapping or bridge priority, use the no msti instance {vlan range | bridge-priority priority}
command.
