Erase all existing files and reformat a file system. Once the file system is formatted, files cannot be
restored.
Syntax
format filesystem: [dosFs1.0 | dosFs2.0]

When you format flash:
1 The startup-config is erased.
2 All cacheboot data files are erased and you must reconfigure cacheboot to regain it.
3 All generated SSH keys are erased and you must recreate them.
4 All archived configuration files are erased.
5 All trace logs, crash logs, core dumps, and call-home logs are erased.
6 In-service Process patches are erased.
After reformatting is complete, three empty directories are automatically created on flash:
CRASH_LOG_DIR, TRACE_LOG_DIR and NVTRACE_LOG_DIR.
Note: Version option is available on LC-ED-RPM only. LC-EE3-RPM, LC-EF-RPM, and LC-EF3-RPM supports
DOS 2.0 only.
