arp retries

Set the number of ARP retries in case the system does not receive an ARP reply in response to an ARP

request.

Syntax

arp retries number

Parameters

number Enter the number of retries. The range is from 5 to 20. The

default is 5.

Defaults 5

Usage Information Retries are 20 seconds apart.

Commands

show arp retries — displays the configured number of ARP retries.

arp timeout

Set the time interval for an ARP entry to remain in the ARP cache.

Syntax

arp timeout minutes

Parameters

minutes Enter the number of minutes. The range is from 0 to 35790.

The default is 240 minutes.

Defaults 240 minutes (4 hours)
