Command History
Version Description
9.9(0.0) Introduced on the FN IOM.
8.3.16.1 Introduced on the MXL 10/40GbE Switch IO Module.
Usage Information
Prior to using this command, to place the interface in Layer 2 mode, execute the
switchport command.
To remove the trunk port designation, first remove the port (using the no member
interface
command) from all stackable VLAN-enabled VLANs.
Starting with the Dell Networking OS version 7.8.1.0, a VLAN-Stack trunk port is
also allowed to be configured as a tagged port and as an untagged port for single-
tagged VLANs. When the VLAN-Stack trunk port is also a member of an untagged
VLAN, the port must be in Hybrid mode. Refer to portmode hybrid.
In the first example, a VLAN-Stack trunk port is configured and then also made part
of a single-tagged VLAN.
In the second example, the tag protocol identifier (TPID) is set to 8848. The “Gi
3/10” Te 3/8 port is configured to act as a VLAN-Stack access port, while the
“TenGi 8/0” port acts as a VLAN-Stack trunk port, switching stackable VLAN traffic
