For a VLAN interface, enter the keyword vlan then a number from 1 to 4094.
2 Enable the interface.

3 Configure a primary IP address and mask on the interface.

ip address ip-address mask [secondary]
ip-address mask: the IP address must be in dotted decimal format (A.B.C.D). The mask must be
in slash prefix-length format (/24).
secondary: add the keyword secondary if the IP address is the interface’s backup IP address.
To view the configuration, use the show config command in INTERFACE mode or use the show ip
interface
command in EXEC privilege mode, as shown in the second example.

Configuring Static Routes
A static route is an IP address that you manually configure and that the routing protocol does not learn, such
as open shortest path first (OSPF). Often, static routes are used as backup routes in case other dynamically
learned routes are unreachable.
You can enter as many static IP addresses as necessary.
To configure a static route, use the following command.
Configure a static IP address.
