CLI Guide
Usage Information When creating an interface range, interfaces appear in the order they are entered; they are not sorted. The
command veries that interfaces are present (physical) or congured (logical). Important things to remember:
• Bulk conguration is created if at least one interface is valid.
• Non-existing interfaces are excluded from the bulk conguration with a warning message.
• The interface range prompt includes interface types with slot/port information for valid interfaces. The prompt
allows for a maximum of 32 characters. If the bulk conguration exceeds 32 characters, it is represented by an
ellipsis ( ... ).
• When the interface range prompt has multiple port ranges, the smaller port range is excluded from the prompt.
• If overlapping port ranges are specied, the port range is extended to the smallest start port and the biggest
end port.

Only VLAN and port-channel interfaces created using the interface vlan and vlan tagged commands can
be used in the interface range command.
Use the show running-config command to display the VLAN and port-channel interfaces. VLAN or port-
channel interfaces that are not displayed in the
show running-config command cannot be used with the
bulk conguration feature of the interface range command. You cannot create virtual interfaces (VLAN,
Port-channel) using the interface range command.
NOTE: If a range has VLAN, physical, and port-channel interfaces, only commands related to physical
interfaces can be bulk congured. To congure commands specic to VLAN or port-channel, only those
respective interfaces should be congured in a particular range.
Example-Single
Range Bulk
Conguration
Dell(conf)# interface range tengigabitethernet 0/1 - 5
Dell(conf-if-range-te-0/1-5)# no shutdown
Dell(conf-if-range-te-0/1-5)#

The following example shows how to use commas to add VLAN and port-channel interfaces to the range.
Dell(conf-if)# interface range tengigabitethernet 0/1 - 5, vlan 2 - 10, port-
channel 1 - 25
Dell(conf-if-range-te-0/1-5,vl-2-10,po-1-25)# no shutdown
Dell(conf-if-range-te-0/1-5,vl-2-10,po-1-25)#
