Before You Start
To install the FN IOM in a Dell FX2 server chassis, use the instructions in the Dell Networking FN IOM Getting Started Guide that is shipped
with the product. The FN IOM installs with zero-touch conguration. After you power it on, it boots up with default settings and auto-
congures with software features enabled. This topic describes the default settings and software features that are automatically congured
at startup. To recongure the FN IOM for customized network operation, use the tasks described in the other topics.
Operational Modes
FN IOM supports ve operational modes. Select the operational mode that meets your deployment needs. To enable a new operational
mode, reload the switch.
Standalone mode
stack-unit unit iom-mode standalone
CONFIGURATION mode
Dell(conf)#stack-unit 0 iom-mode standalone
This mode is the default mode for IOA. It is a fully automated zero-touch mode that allows you to congure VLAN memberships.

VLT mode

Select this mode to multihome server interfaces to dierent IOA modules. This mode is a low-touch mode where all conguration except
VLAN membership is automated. To enable VLAN, congure the VLANs at the server port level. In this mode, port 9 link, which is
associated with LAG-127, is dedicated to VLT interconnect.
Programmable MUX mode

CONFIGURATION mode
Dell(conf)#stack-unit 0 iom-mode programmable-mux
Select this mode to congure PMUX mode CLI commands.
